Quang Hai, Hoang Duc, Duy Manh join ASEAN All-Stars squad to play Manchester United

The trio of Vietnamese national team players including Nguyen Hoang Duc (Phu Dong Ninh Binh), Nguyen Quang Hai (Hanoi Police) and Do Duy Manh (Hanoi FC) have been officially selected by the Southeast Asian Football Federation (AFF) to join the ASEAN All-Stars team.

This squad will participate in a special friendly match with Manchester United Club, taking place on May 28, 2025 at Bukit Jalil Stadium (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia).

The match was part of the Maybank Challenge Cup and was a fundraiser for Al-Sultan Abdullah (YASA), a prestigious charity in Malaysia. The event was also seen as an opportunity to honor Southeast Asian football talents and affirm the role of football as a bridge to spread human values.

According to information from AFF, three Vietnamese players were selected based on their excellent performance, professionalism and impressive fighting spirit in recent times. Nguyen Hoang Duc is a prominent factor in the midfield with the ability to control the match and creative passes. Nguyen Quang Hai continues to affirm his class with technical handling and extensive international experience. Meanwhile, Do Duy Manh shows his leadership role in the defense, with a solid and enthusiastic playing style.

Previously, AFF officially announced the selection of Mr. Kim Sang Sik - Head Coach of the Vietnam National Team - to lead the ASEAN All-Stars to compete with Manchester United Club. According to AFF, after leading the Vietnam National Team to an absolute victory and winning the championship at the ASEAN Cup 2024, Coach Kim Sang Sik's trust as Head Coach of the ASEAN All-Stars is a testament to the excellence and trust he has built in the regional football community.

Sharing about this event, Coach Kim Sang-sik emphasized: "It is a great honor to lead the best players from all ASEAN countries in a match of such importance. We are not only representing our countries but also showing the world the pride, spirit and strength of our region."

The ASEAN All-Stars squad, comprising top players selected from all 12 AFF Member Associations, will be announced in due course. The list will reflect the diversity and collective strength of Southeast Asian football.
