Accordingly, the Co Tu writing system includes letters for single consonants (27 consonants), letters for initial consonant combinations (Co Tu has 16 initial consonant combinations), letters for vowels (27 vowels), letters for final consonants (17 consonants and consonant combinations) and regulations on how to write words in the Co Tu language.

The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Education and Training to advise on preparing documents and procedures to request the Ministry of Education and Training to approve and accept the teaching of ethnic minority languages ​​in educational institutions in the province according to the provisions of Circular No. 32 of the Minister of Education and Training.

This set of characters is used to compile and issue training programs and documents to organize training, fostering and granting certificates in the Co Tu ethnic language according to the provisions of Circular No. 09 of the Minister of Education and Training promulgating regulations on organizing training, fostering and granting certificates in ethnic minority languages.

Previously, the Department of Education and Training of Quang Nam organized two workshops on “Unifying a set of writing systems for the Co Tu people in Vietnam” with the participation of scientists and intellectual representatives who are Co Tu people from Quang Nam province and Hue city; together with representatives of relevant departments, sectors, localities and units to reach a consensus.
