Quang Ngai approves urban planning of nearly 3,800 hectares

The 1/2000 scale zoning plan of Chau O urban center and surrounding areas has just been approved, orienting urban and service development associated with Binh Hoa - Binh Phuoc Industrial Park and Binh Thanh Industrial - Urban - Service Park.

Delegates attending the 2nd Session of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Council. The session took place over two days, July 14-15, and passed many important resolutions.

At the second session, the People's Council of Quang Ngai province, term XIII, term 2021-2026, has just approved the 1/2000 scale zoning plan for Chau O urban center and surrounding areas.

Specifically, the planning boundary area has an area of ​​about 3,795 hectares, including the entire area of ​​Chau O town, Binh Duong commune and part of the areas of the communes: Binh Nguyen, Binh Trung, Binh Long, Binh Phuoc and Binh Dong commune (now Binh Son commune and Van Tuong commune).

This area is oriented to develop urban and service areas associated with Binh Hoa - Binh Phuoc Industrial Park, Binh Thanh Industrial - Urban - Service Park with the core being the existing Chau O town (now Binh Son commune).

Besides, this is also the administrative service center of Binh Son urban area in the future, including important centers such as: Administrative - political center, medical, cultural - sports center, commercial - service center of Binh Son urban area as well as Dung Quat Economic Zone.

In addition, it is also a research center, training high-quality human resources, and an important traffic hub of Dung Quat Economic Zone.

Chau O urban center and surrounding areas is the 10th zoning plan in Dung Quat Economic Zone approved by the People's Council of Quang Ngai province. The approval of zoning plans is important, providing the basis for the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province to approve and establish detailed plans, attract investment projects to Dung Quat Economic Zone, contributing to the socio-economic development of Quang Ngai province.

It is known that Quang Ngai is focusing on completing the Dung Quat construction zoning planning projects according to the orientation of the general planning, thereby quickly arranging and zoning development to create an important premise to fully exploit development space and attract investment.

On February 28, 2023, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 168/QD-TTg approving the overall adjustment of the Master Plan for the construction of Dung Quat Economic Zone, Quang Ngai until 2045, with a scale of more than 45,300 hectares.

After that, Quang Ngai organized the establishment of 11 construction zoning plans at a scale of 1/2,000. Of which, the Management Board of Dung Quat Economic Zone and Quang Ngai Industrial Parks was assigned to implement 9 projects within the boundaries.

To date, 9/9 projects have been approved by the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Council and the Provincial People's Committee. The remaining 2 projects have been assigned to Binh Son district and Quang Ngai city for implementation.
