Groundbreaking ceremony of Dung Quat - Sa Huynh coastal road extension project

TPO - According to the leaders of Quang Ngai province, the investment in the Dung Quat - Sa Huynh coastal road, phase IIb, aims to gradually complete the coastal road according to the plan, creating momentum for socio-economic development in the region and national defense and security in the province.

On the morning of September 6th, the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province held a groundbreaking ceremony for the project to extend the Dung Quat - Sa Huynh coastal road. The project aims to celebrate the First Congress of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee, term 2025-2030.

Quang Ngai province has begun construction on extending the Dung Quat - Sa Huynh coastal road.

The newly constructed section is nearly 6 km long, belonging to phase IIb (section Km 76+230 - Km 82) of the Dung Quat - Sa Huynh coastal road project. According to the design, the route has a design speed of 80 km/h.

The route begins at the intersection with Highway 37 in Mo Cay commune and ends in the fields of Tra Cau ward (formerly Pho An commune, Duc Pho town), with the Quang Ngai Provincial Investment and Construction Management Board for Transportation Projects as the investor.

The project has an estimated construction cost of over 98 billion VND, using surplus funds previously saved by the investor during land compensation and clearance, reforestation, and other costs incurred during the implementation of the Dung Quat - Sa Huynh coastal road project, phase IIb.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Ngoc Sam delivered a speech at the groundbreaking ceremony.

According to Tran Hoang Vinh, Director of the Quang Ngai Province's Investment and Construction Project Management Board for Transportation Works, the project is an effort by Quang Ngai province to leverage resources to complete infrastructure, serving local socio -economic development.

The Dung Quat - Sa Huynh Coastal Road project has a total investment of approximately 5,600 billion VND, with its starting point connecting to the coastal road of Da Nang city and its end point bordering the coastal road of Gia Lai province. This road will contribute to the formation of a 2,838 km long coastal transportation axis for the whole country.

The project is divided into two investment phases. To date, Phase I (the Dung Quat - My Khe and My Khe - Tra Khuc sections) has been completed and put into use, with a total length of over 30km and an implementation cost of nearly 1,500 billion VND. Phase II, with a total length of nearly 70km (the section south of Co Luy Bridge to Sa Huynh), will be invested in during the period 2018-2025.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Ngoc Sam emphasized that the implementation of the Dung Quat - Sa Huynh coastal road investment, phase IIb, aims to gradually complete the coastal road according to the approved plan, ensuring convenient transportation. Upon completion, it will contribute to maximizing the effectiveness of the already invested sections, creating momentum for socio-economic development in the region and national defense and security.
