6 coffee-growing regions applying high technology.

According to the Lam Dong Department of Agriculture and Environment, by the end of 2025, the total coffee area in Lam Dong province will be nearly 323,241.5 hectares, with an estimated total production of 1,001,710 tons, accounting for nearly 50.5% of the total national coffee production. Of this, six coffee growing areas, covering nearly 2,268.5 hectares, have been recognized as applying high technology under a linkage model involving over 1,400 farming households. Specifically, these include coffee production areas in the communes of: Bao Thuan (over 371.6 ha/325 households); Bao Lam 2 (300 ha/255 households); Hoa Bac (over 471.8 ha/236 households); Nam Nung (340 ha/202 households); Duc An (450 ha/200 households); and Thuan An (335 ha/186 households). Lam Dong province has also been granted 33 coffee growing area codes covering an area of over 435 hectares, with an estimated production of 3,335 tons. The majority of these high-tech coffee growing areas apply water-saving irrigation systems combined with fertilization and integrated pest management, meeting the standards of good agricultural practices certification. This contributes to optimizing resource use, reducing input costs, and improving the quality of harvested products.

Specifically, the total coffee growing area in Lam Dong province meets domestic and international certification standards such as: 4C, Rainforest Alliance, UTZ (over 118,300 ha); VietGAP (346 ha), and organic (275 ha). Mr. Nguyen Chi Linh - Deputy Head of the Lam Dong Quality, Processing and Market Development Sub-Department, assessed: “Farmers cultivating according to certification standards not only trace the origin and increase the value of coffee products in the market, but also participate in the EU's (EUDR) non-deforestation supply chain. This develops and expands the linkage chain between businesses, cooperatives and farmers producing according to EUDR regulations, increasing income per unit area of coffee cultivation through annual consumption contracts that are 10-15% higher than market prices…”.

Protecting intellectual property rights for coffee brands.

To date, Lam Dong province has developed 67 linked chains involving 29,442 farming households producing and consuming coffee on an area of 55,491 hectares, with a production of 185,636 tons per year, accounting for 18.5% of the total production in the province. Notably, the export market for coffee in the 2024-2025 crop year to Switzerland, Italy, Japan, Spain, and Germany is expected to reach approximately 158,253 tons, corresponding to a total export value of 478.86 million USD. Besides the brand "Da Lat - A miraculous essence from fertile land," Lam Dong province has 15 coffee brands with certified intellectual property rights, including: Godere, Dak Tin, Coffee Dak Nong Company, Hai Nhung, Hoang Gia Phu, Hoang Giang, Viet Nong, Cam Huong, Van Anh, Dak Nguyen, Thong Hiep, Dano, Dak Dam, Enjoy coffee, and Ca Phe Day. And six coffee product brands have been recognized: Cong Bang Cooperative, Hoang Phat Co., Ltd., Dak Mil Coffee, Bazan Coffee Co., Ltd., Lang Biang Arabica Coffee, and Cau Dat Arabica Coffee.

In addition, 11 projects with a total implementation cost of over 8.2 billion VND have expanded coffee production and consumption chains across a fairly large area in Lam Dong province, ensuring consistent quality, stable output for farmers, and creating a stable supply of raw materials for processing businesses. Overall, participation in high-quality coffee production and consumption chains throughout Lam Dong province has helped coffee growers gradually shift from a "quantity" mindset to one focused on "quality and value," emphasizing clean production processes, selective harvesting, wet processing, and drying to meet domestic and international standards.

To build and develop the province's coffee brand in the coming time, the Department of Agriculture and Environment continues to encourage farmers to participate in production, procurement, preliminary processing, and processing chains, expanding the market for coffee products. At the same time, it will implement policies to support businesses and cooperatives investing in roasting and processing plants for instant coffee and packaged specialty coffee, aiming to increase competitiveness and increase the export rate of deeply processed coffee instead of mainly exporting local green coffee beans...
