Aquatic product output reached nearly 95,000 tons

QTO - Information from the Department of Fisheries and Fisheries Surveillance said that from the beginning of 2025 to now, the output of aquatic products exploited in Quang Tri province is estimated at 94,904 tons, equal to 101.3% over the same period and reaching 81.4% compared to the 2025 plan, of which marine exploitation reached 89,461 tons.

Head of the Fisheries and Fisheries Surveillance Department Tran Xuan Tien said: Fishing activities have been basically stable since the beginning of the year. The work to combat IUU fishing has had positive changes, especially the licensing, marking of fishing vessels, installation of voyage monitoring equipment and updating of fishing vessel data to the fisheries database system have been carried out seriously and on schedule.

Propaganda and guidance for fishermen to comply with regulations on fishing areas and laws on fisheries are maintained regularly, contributing to raising fishermen's sense of responsibility.

The unit is currently continuing to update and monitor weather developments, instruct fishermen on safe fishing at sea; grasp the production activities of fishing vessels at sea. Coordinate propaganda and guide ship owners with expired fishing vessels to prepare documents to re-issue licenses according to regulations. Review and delete registration of ships that have been dismantled, missing, sunk...; carry out the work of registering and inspecting fishing vessels in localities, integrating propaganda on protecting aquatic resources...
