Quang Ninh waives 167 billion VND in tuition fees for students in the 2024 school year

TPO - The 14th term People's Council of Quang Ninh province, term 2021-2026, has just passed a Resolution to support 100% of tuition fees for preschool children, high school students, and students studying general education programs at educational institutions in Quang Ninh province.

On September 23, at the 21st session, the thematic session of the 14th Provincial People's Council, term 2021-2026, passed a Resolution on a number of measures to support overcoming the consequences of storm No. 3 in Quang Ninh province in 2024.

Quang Ninh exempts 167 billion VND in tuition fees for students

In particular, 100% tuition support will be provided for preschool children, high school students, and students studying general education programs at educational institutions in Quang Ninh province, except for primary school students in public schools and those who have enjoyed tuition support policies according to the province's regulations in the 2024-2025 school year to promptly share difficulties, support, and reduce the financial burden on parents and students so that schools can maintain attendance and discipline.

The resolution affirmed the province's special attention and care for the education and training career and encouraged and motivated students to strive and study with peace of mind.

In the 2024-2025 school year, the province will have 631 kindergartens, general schools, and continuing education schools; over 365,000 students.

With this policy, nearly 244,000 students from nearly 165,000 households will receive support. The estimated support budget for the 2024-2025 school year is about 167 billion VND from the provincial budget.

Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee said that storm No. 3 killed 29 people, injured 1,609 people, lost contact with 4 people, and caused property damage of about 24,223 billion VND... Of which, over 70% of students' families were directly affected by storm No. 3, causing property damage, severely affecting living conditions and production. The remaining families were mostly indirectly affected, affecting their jobs and income...
