Starting from small-scale production, in early 2020, Mr. Phan Truong Au's family in Phu Sa village (Que Xuan 1 commune, Que Son district) decided to register to participate in the OCOP program with their signature product, coconut cinnamon rolls.

With support totaling over 220 million VND from the Que Son district authorities and local government, Mr. Au was able to invest in expanding his production facility and purchasing modern equipment to improve operational capacity and product quality.

Mr. Au said that at the end of 2020, Phu Sa coconut cinnamon rolls were recognized by the Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee as meeting OCOP 3-star standards. Since achieving OCOP 3-star status, the product's market has continuously expanded, and sales volume has also increased significantly.

"In the first 10 months of 2024, my facility supplied an average of 15,000 products to the market each month, achieving a revenue of 150 million VND. After deducting expenses, the net profit was at least 30 million VND per month, double that of 2019 and earlier years," Mr. Au said.

According to Mr. Tran Vu Tanh, Deputy Head of the Agriculture and Rural Development Department of Que Son district, from 2018 to the present, the staff of relevant departments in the district and 13 communes and towns have actively supported entities participating in the OCOP program, from identifying ideas to establishing and implementing production and business plans in practice for each unit according to the OCOP cycle.

At the same time, regular training sessions are conducted to transfer technology, apply science and technology, build brands, promote trade, and advertise products. From the annual budget allocated by the province, during the period 2018-2024, Que Son district spent more than 4.2 billion VND to support the implementation of the OCOP program.

"The aforementioned capital mainly supports entities investing in factories, purchasing equipment and machinery for production, establishing packaging and designs, and building brands..." - Mr. Tanh said.

According to Mr. Tran Vu Tanh, as of the end of October 2024, Que Son had 25 products recognized by the Provincial People's Committee and the Que Son District People's Committee as meeting OCOP standards; including 21 3-star products and 4 4-star products.

According to the plan, in 2025 Que Son will continue to spend more than 500 million VND to support businesses implementing the OCOP program, striving to have at least 4 more new products achieving OCOP standards from 3 stars or higher.
