New regulations on contact with voters of National Assembly and People's Council deputies

Việt NamViệt Nam03/03/2025

According to the resolution, National Assembly and People's Council deputies can meet voters in person, online or a combination of the two. The meetings are organized at the place of candidacy, residence, workplace or on a topic basis to facilitate voters to express their opinions.

Delegates are responsible for listening, collecting, and honestly reflecting voters’ petitions and supervising the resolution process. Relevant agencies such as the National Assembly delegation, People’s Councils and People’s Committees at all levels must coordinate closely to organize effective voter meetings, ensure security and provide complete information. In addition, the resolution also stipulates the public announcement of voter meeting schedules, the synthesis and reporting of meeting results, as well as the responsibilities of agencies in resolving voters’ petitions and complaints.

Resolution 72 is an important step forward in improving the quality of voter contact, helping people actively participate in the process of policy and law making and supervising the activities of elected bodies.
