Planning to turn the Ba To Uprising Relic into a tourist attraction

(CLO) The planning objective is to preserve and maintain the existing values of the special national relic of the Ba To Uprising in the long term, turning it into a unique source-visiting tourist destination, creating close links with other local tourist routes.


Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long signed a decision on December 27, 2024 approving the Task of developing a Plan for the preservation, restoration and rehabilitation of the special national relic site of the Ba To Uprising, Ba To district, Quang Ngai province for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050.

Accordingly, the planning objective is to identify, preserve and maintain the existing values of the Ba To Uprising National Special Relic Site and related cultural heritages in the long term, ensuring harmony between relic conservation and the requirements of socio -economic development and environmental protection.

Complete the boundaries and scope of the protected area of the relic. Determine the functions and land use criteria for the relic area, residential area and environmental protection area. Orient the organization of architectural space, landscape and arrange appropriate technical infrastructure systems in the planning area.

Forming a unique source-visiting tourist destination, a place to learn, propagate and educate the spirit of patriotism and the revolutionary struggle tradition of our people, combined with visiting natural landscapes and traditional local culture.

Turn the Ba To Uprising Site into a special national relic site, one of the important destinations on the route connecting Quang Ngai city - Nghia Hanh - Ba To; create close links between the relic sites and with other local tourist routes.

Orientation of roadmap, comprehensive solution groups on management, preservation, renovation, restoration and promotion of relic values associated with local socio-economic development and tourism development; promoting heritage values and raising awareness and responsibility of the community in protecting cultural heritage, exploiting natural resources associated with sustainable tourism and environmental protection.

At the same time, establish a scientific basis and legal basis for managing and protecting relics; attract and encourage economic sectors to invest in sustainable development in relic areas; establish, appraise, approve and implement component projects to preserve, restore, rehabilitate and promote the value of relics.

Develop regulations to manage and control the planning space of architectural landscape of relics and adjacent areas.

The Ba To uprising took place on March 11, 1945. This was the first armed uprising under the leadership of the Party before August 1945 to achieve complete victory. The Ba To guerrilla team with 28 members became the predecessor of the armed forces of Military Region 5.

In 1980, the relic sites of the Ba To uprising and the Ba To guerrilla team were recognized as national historical and cultural relics. In 2010, the State awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces to the Ba To guerrilla team.
