Activate backlog of key projects
One of the key projects that has been restarted is the Dak Doa Complex, including the Dak Doa Golf Course Complex invested by FLC Group, with an area of over 197 hectares and a total investment of over VND1,321 billion.
This project is located in Glar commune, Tan Binh commune and Dak Doa town (now Dak Doa commune) with more than 156 hectares of pine forest planted since 1976 converted to golf course use.
However, because the project has been suspended since 2022, forest management and protection here has become lax, causing many pine trees to be cut down for wood or illegally dug up and sold to landscapers.
Faced with that situation, provincial leaders have directed functional agencies to review documents, planning, and remove legal obstacles to soon restart the project.
Mr. Ngo Ba Vuong - Party Secretary of Village 3 (Dak Doa Commune), shared: "Seeing the pine forest being illegally dug up and cut down for wood, people were very upset. Now that the province has a policy to rebuild it, people are very happy. I hope the provincial government will closely direct and speed up the progress to soon put this area into effective exploitation, helping people have jobs and stable income."

Similarly, the Nam Pleiku Industrial Park (Bo Ngoong commune) has a scale of 200 hectares, approved for investment policy since September 2019, and is expected to complete phase 1 in 2022. However, to date, the project has not yet been put into operation due to delays in planning adjustments and technical infrastructure investment.
After directly inspecting the site, Provincial Party Secretary Ho Quoc Dung directed departments and branches to coordinate in completing investment procedures; requiring that within the next 4 months, the investor must complete the wastewater treatment system and essential infrastructure to be able to attract businesses from the beginning of 2026.
Provincial Party Secretary Ho Quoc Dung directed that major projects should not be left on hold, causing waste of resources and affecting the confidence of investors and people; at the same time, it is necessary to resolutely remove obstacles and speed up progress to create development momentum for the locality.
Mr. Le Trung Kien - General Director of Chu Se Rubber One Member Co., Ltd., the project implementation unit - said: "After the direction of the province, we have received specific instructions from the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board. The enterprise is urgently adjusting the project in accordance with regulations and continues to request the province to approve the investment policy, speeding up the construction progress".

Towards a modern, synchronous urban area
In Pleiku ward, the CK54 Eco-Urban Area Project has a scale of 240 hectares, expected to become the "key" to promote urban development and the tourism -service industry of the province.
The project aims to build a model, modern urban area, integrating many utilities in commerce, education , health, entertainment and sports. Notably, the Provincial People's Committee recently signed Decision No. 806/QD-UBND approving the project's investment policy with a total investment of over 17,200 billion VND.
Provincial leaders determined that the CK54 Urban Area will be started on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025). Along with that, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to preside over, determine the starting price of the auctioned land, complete the dossier to submit to the Provincial People's Committee for approval of the land use rights auction plan in August 2025.

Mr. Dang Toan Thang - Chairman of Pleiku Ward People's Committee - emphasized: "The project will be an important highlight with many outstanding items such as: 18-hole golf course, supermarket of nearly 5 hectares, water park, 5-star hotel, conference center... With fresh air and beautiful landscape, this will be an attractive destination for investors and tourists".
In addition to the above projects, Gia Lai province is also resolutely removing obstacles to restart many large projects such as: Pleiku Pine Hill Cultural-Urban Ecological Tourism Area (Ia Hrung commune); FLC Hilltop Gia Lai Hotel, Commercial and Townhouse Complex in Dien Hong Ward (formerly Ia Kring Ward); Bien Ho-Chu Dang Ya Tourist Area Planning (Bien Ho commune); Eastern Economic Corridor Road Project (National Highway 19 bypass)...

In particular, the Nguyen Van Linh Residential Area project (in Hoi Phu and Dien Hong wards) is behind schedule due to difficulties in compensation and site clearance. Of which, the Nguyen Van Linh Street component project has 313 households affected, but only 201 households agree, the remaining 112 households do not agree.
Regarding this project, Mr. Pham Xuan Diep - Director of the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board - said: "According to the direction of the province, we are focusing on processing land records and financial obligations to ensure compliance with regulations, creating conditions to speed up construction progress. In the immediate future, it is necessary to remove "bottlenecks" in compensation and site clearance to promptly hand over the site as planned."
Gia Lai province's simultaneous activation of "dormant" projects and acceleration of slow-progressing projects not only opens the way for investment capital flows but also contributes to promoting effective land use, unleashing the potential of the Western region, and gradually forming new growth poles in the province's comprehensive development process.
This is identified as a new dynamic area with rich potential, playing an important role in the development of the province's highlands.
