From July 26 to 27, heavy rains occurred in Quynh Nhai commune, causing damage to crops and houses.

By 11:00 a.m. on July 27, heavy rain had caused landslides, causing damage to houses and property of people in the sub-regions: Phieng Ban, Phieng Nen, Muong Giang and the villages of Cha Long, Ngay, Hoa San, Dan Dam. Heavy rain flooded nearly 7 hectares of rice of 34 households; the road to the old Chieng On commune headquarters in Dan Dam village collapsed with a length of 30 m; the road in the territory of Phieng Nen sub-region was damaged about 500m ² ; the road from Phieng Ban sub-region to Binh Thuan commune had a landslide on the positive slope, the volume of earth and rock was about 100m ³ .

Immediately after the disaster occurred, the commune directed the villages and sub-regions to inspect and verify the damage situation and mobilize human and material resources on the spot to help affected families overcome the consequences of the disaster. Maintain 24/7 duty, closely monitor forecasts and warnings; promptly provide information to the villages and sub-regions so that people know and proactively prevent.
