GE HealthCare and Hong Ngoc General Hospital cooperate to deploy the high-end CT system Revolution Apex Elite 3.0 with 2560 reconstructed slices technology, the first in Vietnam.
Revolution Apex Elite 3.0 system introduced at Hong Ngoc General Hospital
On November 21, 2024, GE HealthCare has just transferred to Hong Ngoc - Phuc Truong Minh General Hospital the advanced Revolution Apex Elite 3.0 - the first high-end super-speed CT system providing 2560 reconstructed slices in Vietnam. The machine uses smart spectrum technology to minimize radiation dose by up to 96%, maximizing patient safety while increasing the level of outstanding image detail, providing accurate and in-depth diagnosis in all difficult cases.
2560-slice AI CT - Revolution Apex Elite 3.0 marks a new breakthrough in the field of diagnostic imaging, fully integrating the world's most advanced AI Deep Learning. True Fidelity Hi-Res high-resolution image reconstruction technology combined with optimal algorithms allows up to 2560 slices to be reconstructed from a 160mm high-definition Gemstone receiver, helping to enhance 3D image detail to minimize the risk of missing lesions and improve diagnostic accuracy. AI technology automatically detects and accurately locates blood vessels, records drug flow variations in the body, helps optimize the imaging process and ensures diagnostic efficiency. Along with that is the Snapshot Freeze 2 feature, "freezing" the image of the entire heart with perfect definition, suitable for all difficult cases from adults to children.
Hong Ngoc General Hospital affirms its top advantage in technology
Associate Professor, Dr. Le Van Thach - Director of Hong Ngoc - Phuc Truong Minh General Hospital said: "With the orientation of being a high-tech hospital, we always strive to pioneer in investing, owning many modern equipment and machines early and applying the world's leading medical technology. By putting into use the advanced 2560-slice AI CT system, we believe that with the fast-capture technology, sharp image quality and safe radiation dose of the machine, patients will have the best and safest examination results, screening as well as optimal treatment at Hong Ngoc Hospital".
At the event, Dr. Trinh Tu Tam, Head of the Department of Diagnostic Imaging and Interventional Radiology, Hong Ngoc - Phuc Truong Minh General Hospital, also shared experiences in applying the AI 2560-slice CT machine and advanced AI software into practice. The AI 2560-slice CT possesses exclusive cardiovascular technology capable of capturing sharp cardiovascular images without the need for ECG waves - an unprecedented step forward in the market that helps shorten the scanning time and brings maximum comfort to patients, especially useful in emergency situations. Moreover, the system also provides in-depth diagnostic value in many difficult cases in many specialties such as: oncology, cardiology, neurology, pediatrics, musculoskeletal... to bring trust to doctors and peace of mind to patients.
Specifically, the 2560-slice AI CT supports cancer screening by using AI combined with spectral data, measuring the concentration of more than 25 substances in the body with high sensitivity to accurately diagnose and detect lesions as small as 0.23mm, distinguish benign and malignant tumors, classify lesion stages... Along with super-fast scanning speed allowing limited use of sedation and super-low dose ensuring safety for children, the system also effectively supports doctors in pediatric imaging diagnosis.
2560-slice CT system put into routine operation at Hong Ngoc General Hospital
The 2560-slice AI CT also effectively detects atherosclerotic plaques, blood clots, narrowing or ruptured cerebral blood vessels... extremely small and reduces the time for taking pictures, processing images, and reading results. In cardiology, this is the world's pioneering device for taking coronary angiograms in just one heartbeat for all heart rates (tachycardia, arrhythmia, atrial fibrillation...), creating sharp images that are less affected by complex heart muscle movements. For neurology, the system captures the largest number of reconstructed slices (2560 slices) and applies the most in-depth AI today, supporting doctors to quickly assess cerebral strokes in just under 5 minutes to take advantage of the urgent "golden time" to save the patient's life.
The transfer of the 2560-slice AI CT machine further strengthens the strategic partnership in technology and capacity development between GE HealthCare and Hong Ngoc - Phuc Truong Minh General Hospital from 2021 to present. In particular, in 2023, the two sides cooperated to launch the first modern diagnostic imaging solution display center in the North. Many of GE HealthCare's leading diagnostic imaging devices such as: CT Revolution EVO and Revolution Maxima, MRI 1.5T SIGNA Creator and SIGNA Prime, Senographe Pristina mammography machine, OEC 9900 Elite C-arm X-ray machine... are all being used at the hospital.
