On January 18, the Center for Promotion - Trade and Investment of An Giang province coordinated with tourism companies in Ho Chi Minh City to organize the launching ceremony of the tourism product "Colorful raft village at the Chau Doc river junction" to diversify tourism products of An Giang province.
Chau Doc floating village is painted with brilliant colors, creating a unique highlight for visitors to visit.
Mr. Le Trung Hieu, Director of An Giang Trade and Investment Promotion Center, said that the project "Colorful raft village at Chau Doc river junction" was put into trial operation by the coordinating unit at the end of December 2023. The special feature of Chau Doc raft village is the floating houses made of fish rafts forming a "village" along the river, stretching about 4 km.
When visiting the floating village, tourists can experience the life of the people, how they raise aquatic products in cages, and experience the river environment. Realizing the tourism potential of the floating village, the locality has painted 6 colors: red, yellow, orange, green, blue, purple on all 161 fish rafts of the people, creating an extremely unique scene.

"Observing from above, you will see interwoven color patches connecting, creating a colorful landscape, a unique highlight of the Chau Doc river junction area. This will be an ideal place for visitors to enjoy and take souvenir check-in photos," said Mr. Hieu.

To get to this colorful floating village, visitors can take a cruise ship from Chau Doc or drive to Da Phuoc commune, then get off the boat to visit the floating village and experience the life of the people, how people raise aquatic products in cages, and experience the river environment. Then visitors can visit the Cham village to visit the mosque, see the traditional brocade weaving of the Cham people and experience the simple, rustic life of the people here.
