Vietnam Mathematical Festival (VNMF) under the National Key Program for Mathematics Development for the 2021-2030 period was launched on August 2.
The Vietnam Mathematical Playground is organized by the Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics - the permanent coordinating unit and the Mathematical Program. The playground is organized to carry out the tasks of "Supporting the implementation of the 2018 general education program in mathematics" and "Supporting talent training and improving the quality of human resources in the mathematics industry" of the Mathematical Program.
The playground will create a positive, creative, highly communal math space, attracting students from grades 1 to 12, from urban to rural areas, or even remote areas, to arouse love and interest in math, through a gamified competition format that combines creative activities and encourages discovery instead of score pressure.
According to the organizers, the playground will help students develop their logical thinking, problem solving, teamwork and creativity in mathematics, so that each student can explore mathematics in their own way, access modern educational technology, practice digital skills and self-study.
This is also a channel to discover and nurture students with mathematical talent early on, creating a source of students for national and international competitions for excellent students.
At the playground's launch ceremony, Professor Ngo Bao Chau, Scientific Director of the Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics, said that this playground aims to make it easier for more students to access mathematics.

Associate Professor Dr. Le Minh Ha, Executive Director of the Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics, said that the highlight of the Vietnam Mathematical Playground is the in-depth exam questions, requiring students to have rigorous mathematical thinking, good presentation skills, and suitable for many types of students.
With online testing, friendly interface, many interesting question types, students can practice every day. The test ensures quality, is modern, creative, highly applicable and follows global trends.
"Students are honored internationally if they achieve high results," said Mr. Le Minh Ha.
Speaking at the playground launch ceremony, Mr. Ta Ngoc Tri, Deputy Director of the Department of General Education (Ministry of Education and Training) highly appreciated the initiative to organize this playground and said that through the math playground, parents and students can change their perspectives and perceptions.
"Mathematical knowledge helps us solve problems to live well in society. That is the ultimate goal of mathematics," said Mr. Tri.
