On September 3, after a heavy rain, a large amount of garbage washed up on Bai Truoc, Vung Tau City, making the beach look dirty and polluted.

The garbage is mainly broken tree branches washed up by the tide on some beaches in Vung Tau, along with a lot of household waste such as plastic bottles, food containers, nylon bags...

Front Beach is the area that receives the most trash, as wave after wave washes in. Mr. Nguyen Anh Tam, a resident of Vung Tau City, said that Front Beach is mostly for local visitors. He often witnesses trash washing up here, so he is very familiar with this image. "Sometimes it's water hyacinth, sometimes tree branches, plastic waste, every year dozens of waves of trash wash up on the beach" - Mr. Tam said.

On September 3, Vung Tau Urban Works and Environmental Services Joint Stock Company (VESCO) started cleaning up the trash. Local people swimming in the sea and tourists passing by also joined hands to clean up the trash at Bai Truoc.

Ocean trash washes into beaches in Vung Tau

According to Ms. Nguyen Minh Thu (HCMC), at first she was disappointed because she thought Vung Tau beach was full of dirty trash, but when she learned that this was trash from other places washed ashore by the waves, she joined hands with everyone to collect trash.

"I also let my children experience collecting trash at the beach so that they are more aware, throw trash in the right place and know how to classify trash" - Ms. Minh Thu happily said.

According to VESCO, every year the company collects hundreds of tons of ocean waste that washes up on Vung Tau beaches, mainly water hyacinth, broken tree branches, and plastic waste. When it is not possible to collect all of it, the locality mobilizes many agencies and organizations to join hands to clean the beach.
