Ho Chi Minh City spends more than 1,010 billion VND to give each person 100,000 VND

(NLDO) - The State Treasury of Region II (HCMC) is coordinating with 168 wards, communes, special zones and the HCMC Police to transfer the total amount of gifts to the people.

On August 31, speaking with a reporter from the Lao Dong Newspaper, the leader of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Finance said that at the request of the Department of Finance in Official Dispatch No. 4427/STC-DP and a number of related regulations, on the same day, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issued a decision to supplement the state budget estimate for 2025 to implement the policy of giving gifts to people on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, according to Resolution No. 263/NQ-CP.

Specifically, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee approved the supplementary state budget in 2025 for the Ho Chi Minh City Police and 168 People's Committees of communes, wards, and special zones to give gifts to people on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, with a total amount of VND 1,010,230,900,000. Of which, the additional funding source includes: VND 989,344,800,000 from the central budget expenditure estimate in 2025 approved by the National Assembly and VND 20,886,100,000 from the Ho Chi Minh City budget reserve.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Finance has completed the procedures for providing additional funding for 2025 to the Ho Chi Minh City Police and the People's Committees of communes, wards and towns according to regulations. By noon on August 31, the State Treasury of Region II had coordinated with 168 wards, communes, special zones and the Ho Chi Minh City Police to transfer the entire gift money to local people on the afternoon of August 31. During the implementation process, if there is a lack of funding, the People's Committees of communes, wards and special zones must report to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee (through the Department of Finance) for timely supplementation, ensuring no delay.

Ho Chi Minh City Police Department directed police in communes, wards and special zones to coordinate with People's Committees of communes, wards and special zones to give gifts to people on time, ensuring the right recipients, safety and no duplication; at the same time, allocate the budget part under the responsibility of Ho Chi Minh City Police Department.
