The former Real Madrid star scored the only goal for Monterrey in their 1-1 draw against Inter. This was Ramos's first game for the Mexican club after two months sidelined with injury.
Speaking after the match, Ramos said: "When you don't win and don't get three points, obviously you can't go home happy. Although we knew this was a strong opponent, we were confident that we could determine the outcome of the match ourselves."
Ramos emphasized that facing a team like Inter Milan was a big challenge, but he felt that his team had opportunities to win.
"A point is better than no points," Ramos added. "Maybe in the first half, we didn't handle things well. But in the second half, the team improved its ball control and built a clearer game plan. When the opponent's stamina decreased, we had effective attacks."
Many fans praised Ramos on X. One account commented: "Unbelievable, this is a jump from a player almost 40 years old." Another fan said: "Ramos's class is still there." A fan added: "Even Inter's famously tight defense couldn't stop Ramos."
This draw leaves Monterrey and Inter sharing second and third place in Group E with one point each. River Plate leads the group, having beaten Urawa Reds 3-1 in an earlier match.
