First unveiled last December, the H1 is Unitree Robotics' first humanoid robot. Previously, the company was known for its four-legged, dog-like robots. In its initial version, the H2 stands 1.805 meters tall, weighs approximately 47 kg, and can carry up to 30 kg of cargo. Each of its legs can rotate freely 5 degrees thanks to joints at the hips, knees, and ankles. Joints at the shoulders and elbows allow each arm to rotate freely a total of 4 degrees, according to New Atlas .

The robot captures 360-degree images of its surroundings using an Intel RealSense D435i depth-sensing camera on its head and a Livox MID360 LiDAR (ground-penetrating radar) module. Data from these devices is analyzed in real time by a dual Intel Core i7-1265U processor. Additionally, the robot can maintain balance and walk continuously, even when kicked.

In a video shared by Unitree Robotics on March 1st, the latest version of the H1, Evolution V3.0, does even more. It can walk quickly on a flat surface at a speed of 3.3 m/s. According to the manufacturer, this is a new world record for a full-size humanoid robot. Compared to the H1, Agility Robotics' bipedal robot Cassie set a sprint record in 2022, covering 100 meters in 24.73 seconds, with an average speed of 4 m/s (14.4 km/h). However, Cassie essentially consists only of a pair of legs and a head, not a fully humanoid robot. Tesla's full-size humanoid robot Optimus only achieved a speed of 0.6 m/s.

In addition to brisk walking, the H1 Evolution V3.0 can also jump (with full-body coordination), go up and down stairs, and jump high like a human.
