As vacuuming and mopping technologies have gradually improved and there are few major changes, robot companies are investing in technologies that increase convenience.

In 2024, mid-range robot vacuum cleaners have almost all the basic cleaning features integrated: vacuuming, mopping, self-emptying dust into the trash bag, and having clean and dirty water tanks. Therefore, technology companies are looking for ways to bring more special features to high-end models.

Ecovacs, the leading company in the market share of robot vacuum cleaners in Vietnam, chose to improve the battery and intelligence of the new Deebot X11 product line, which was just launched at the IFA Berlin exhibition in early September. By continuously charging many small times, the company said the robot can clean a house with an area of up to 1,000 m2 after each full charge.

Specifically, the robot will be quickly charged every time it returns to the station to empty dust, change water or wash the mop. Ecovacs said that with each 3-minute charge, the battery increases by nearly 6%. Therefore, the cleaning area for each charge has increased significantly compared to the previous generation, Deebot X8, although the battery capacity remains unchanged. Normally, a vacuum robot works for about 3 hours, with a cleaning area of 120 m2, and the battery will run out. At that time, the machine will have to return to the charging station to recharge, until the battery reaches the average level before continuing to clean. With this feature, Deebot X11 is suitable for large houses.

In addition, Ecovacs also launched the X11 OmniCyclone version. Instead of using disposable dust bags like current models, this version has a plastic dust box with a capacity of 1.6 liters.

When used, the station will suck dust and trash into this box, and the user can easily see when the dust is full and dump it. Compared to using a dust bag, this solution is more economical in terms of long-term usage costs. With a cyclone suction mechanism similar to handheld vacuum cleaners, the station can also suck up trash better, reducing the situation of hair and medium-sized trash not being sucked into the dust bag.

The new X11 model also has an additional “hill climbing” system, including auxiliary wheels next to the main wheel. When encountering high obstacles such as ledges in the house, the auxiliary wheels can push the robot up a little and overcome them. According to the company’s specifications, with this feature, the Deebot X11 model can overcome 2.4 cm ledges, and up to 4 cm if there are 2 consecutive ledges. Before Ecovacs, competitors such as Roborock or Dreame also equipped similar “ledge climbing” capabilities.

In terms of vacuuming or mopping, the Deebot X11 series has some improvements. The machine has a maximum suction power of up to 19,500 Pa, and uses a new mop roller with high-density nylon strips to increase cleaning efficiency.

Another notable point is that the Deebot X11 series is equipped with the ability to give Vietnamese voice commands. Other models of the company have had announcements in Vietnamese, but this is the first time that Ecovacs robots can be controlled by commands such as "clean the entire house" or "return to the charging station".

Deebot X is still Ecovacs's most advanced robot line. In Vietnam, the company sells two versions including X11 OmniCyclone (using a dust box) for 26 million and Pro Omni (using a regular trash bag) for 24.9 million. At this price point, competing brands also have options such as Dreame X50, Dreame Aqua10 Roller or Roborock Qrevo EdgeT.
