A vibrant historical drama program for schools.

Before the second semester exams, many theaters with good historical plays accelerated their performances to serve students.

On April 5th, at the Tran Huu Trang Theater, the Youth World Theater ( thuộc Ho Chi Minh City University of Theater and Film) staged four performances of excellent historical plays for high school students, spread throughout the day from 8 am to nearly 8 pm.

The play "Love is the Way to Escape Guilt" was performed for two shows, with the remaining two shows reserved for the play "The Poet Ho Xuan Huong" .

Historical plays are captivating students.

Notebook "Love is the Way to Escape Guilt," a play produced by People's Artist Hoang Yen of the World Youth Theatre since 2018, won the silver medal at the National Drama Festival and the gold medal for the actors in the play. Eight years later, the play continues to be performed regularly every year for schools, and is the most frequently performed play by schools.

"Love is the Way to Absolution ," inspired by historical figures such as Nguyen Trai, Thi Lo, and King Le Thai Tong, captivates viewers with its high-quality staging and performances by artists who are lecturers and students from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Theatre and Film.

A literature teacher from Hung Vuong High School – the school that collaborated with the theater to bring students to see "Love is the Way to Escape Guilt" on the morning of April 5th – said this was the third time the school had brought its students to see this play.

This is an extracurricular activity; the school's literature department has searched for historical and literary plays that feature historical information and characters familiar to the school community, so that the students can watch them and gain diverse artistic perspectives.

Besides the Youth World Theatre, the school also took students to see the play "General Le Van Duyet - The Man Who Received Nine Death Sentences" by the Idecaf Theatre.

Coincidentally, on April 5th, at the 6 PM show, the Idecaf Theatre also performed this play under contract for another school in the city at the theatre's new venue, the Ho Chi Minh City Children's House. Although the play was created after "Love is the Way to Escape Guilt ," it is currently a very popular historical play at Idecaf, and is one of the works prioritized by schools.

To date, the play "Love is a Way to Escape Guilt " has been performed over 200 times. On April 12th, it was booked for three performances, and will subsequently tour at the Ho Chi Minh City College of Industry and Trade, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and other institutions. Besides "Love is a Way to Escape Guilt ," the play "The Poet Ho Xuan Huong" is also being presented to students this time.
