At Nguyen Tao Primary School (An Xuyen, Ca Mau ), the atmosphere on the first day of school was warm, teachers were assigned to stand at the school gate to welcome and guide students to the right class. In the classrooms, homeroom teachers were also waiting to welcome and guide students to their seats.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Cuong, a teacher at Nguyen Tao Primary School, said she was very happy and excited on the first day of school because she got to meet her old students and welcome new students.

“I am the homeroom teacher of grade 1, the students have just transferred to a different level so they will be very confused when entering the class, so the teachers must be present early to guide them, care for them, and stabilize their psychology. On the first day of school, the teachers mainly let the students get to know each other, equip them with some life skills such as communicating with teachers and friends, sitting in the right posture, how to raise their hands to express their opinions, and guide them to the toilet area…”, Ms. Cuong said.

Ms. Chau Thi Nhan, who has two children studying at Hung Vuong Primary School (Tan Thanh, Ca Mau), said that her children are all looking forward to the first day of school. “When they heard that they were going to school, the children were very excited. They had prepared their belongings and school bags since last night. This morning, the children woke up early without their parents waking them up. I am very happy to see them so eager to study,” Ms. Nhan shared.

“I have been looking forward to going to school since last night to see my friends and teachers. I feel sad staying at home during the summer break. In the new school year, I will try my best to study well to please my parents and teachers,” said Pham Ngoc Phuong Vy, a 5th grade student at Hung Vuong Primary School.

At higher levels, the atmosphere of the first day of school is also bustling. At Ho Thi Ky High School - the first high school in Ca Mau established after the liberation, where there is a long history of good teaching and good learning, students happily greet their teachers when they meet again, and teachers also give students words of encouragement for the new school year.

“After nearly 3 months of summer vacation, meeting my teachers and friends again made me feel like I had found new joy. First, I went to greet my old teachers, inform them about activities during the summer vacation, then chat with my friends. In the new school year, I will try to study better and practice more life skills,” said Lam Hoang Phat, a student of class 10A14 at Ho Thi Ky High School.
