Strategic decision
Resolution 71-NQ/TW recently issued by the Politburo mentions raising allowances for teachers as well as increasing spending on education. With the reality of management at the grassroots level, Ms. Ta Thi Thanh Binh - Principal of Thanh Xuan Secondary School (Noi Bai, Hanoi) highly appreciated this policy and expected that Vietnam's education will have a leap in quality.
In the increasingly developing digital age of the world, our country needs to have a roadmap for strong investment in developing schools in both quantity and quality. Quantity means investing in building enough schools, enough classes, enough equipment, and teaching aids to avoid overloading the number of students in each class; there must be enough human resources, enough teachers for each subject and class.

Quality means modernizing and digitizing teaching facilities and equipment, improving school management and administration capacity, and consolidating the quality of teachers and staff. Only by improving the quality and quantity in schools can we meet the teaching and learning needs of teachers and students.
"In the 2025-2026 school year, the school has 32 classes with a total of 56 teachers. According to the Ministry of Education and Training's staffing plan, there will be a shortage of 10 teachers, but currently, contracts have been signed with 8 teachers. The school encourages teachers to teach more hours than prescribed and then supports overtime costs. Therefore, if the State pays attention to the treatment regime, it is extremely exciting," Ms. Binh shared.
Having been in the profession for nearly 40 years, Meritorious Teacher Le Thi Ha - Principal of Yen Thuong Primary School (Phu Dong, Hanoi) expressed her emotion and felt extremely happy when the Party and State increasingly paid attention to the cause of Education and Training. This decision was issued at a crucial time when the Education sector was facing new advantages and challenges of the times.

According to Associate Professor Le Thi Ha, in the past, although there were many innovations in teaching, many schools were still unable to implement them due to funding constraints. Increasing spending on education is to increase resources so that educational activities can operate smoothly, creating conditions to thoroughly and qualitatively perform each task and activity in the school so that the quality of education and training will be improved.
"Increasing the allowance for teachers is always an expectation and desire of every teacher and manager so that teachers can make a living from their profession. In the context of an increasingly developed society, if there is a higher income, somewhat improved to meet the current life, then teachers will certainly feel secure to stick with it to contribute and be more dedicated to their profession" - Associate Professor Le Thi Ha emphasized.
Affirming the position of teachers

Expressing his agreement with the policies stated by the Politburo in Resolution 71, Mr. Le Hoai Quan - Principal of To Vinh Dien Secondary School (O Cho Dua, Hanoi) affirmed that the issue of raising allowances for teachers or raising the basic salary for teachers is something that needs to be done immediately.
In the educational environment, when students are placed at the center, students are number 1, teachers must also be placed in the corresponding position. Education has two very clear activities: teaching and learning, so students and teachers must be equally concerned.
"Increasing spending on education is also necessary, because education has always been considered the top national policy, and investment in education needs to be practical and correct. Next school year, schools always hope to receive more attention and investment so that teachers can fully develop their strengths," said Mr. Le Hoai Quan.

According to Ms. Vu Thi Thin - Principal of Tay Mo 3 Secondary School (Tay Mo, Hanoi), increasing allowances will significantly improve teachers' income, especially preschool and primary school teachers, whose salaries are still low compared to the general level. This will help reduce the economic burden so that teachers can feel secure in their profession.
Better income is an important factor in retaining good, experienced teachers and attracting talented young people to the profession. When life is guaranteed, teachers will have more motivation to improve the quality of education. Increasing spending on education also creates opportunities for schools to invest in and upgrade facilities and teaching equipment, better serving educational activities.
"Entering the new school year 2025-2026, we hope that detailed guidelines on the implementation of Resolution 71-NQ/TW, especially on increasing allowances and spending levels, will be issued soon. The increase in allowances needs to be implemented in a synchronous, fair and timely manner, without delays or procedural problems; at the same time, supporting teachers to improve their professional qualifications, meeting the requirements of the 2018 General Education Program" - Ms. Vu Thi Thin added.
