Before the match between Al Nassr and Al Fateh in the second round of the Saudi Pro League took place, a short ceremony was held at Awwal Park. Under the witness of thousands of home fans, Ronaldo walked onto the field with a bright smile and received the Saudi Pro League 2024 Golden Boot award.

This is a title that recognizes his achievement of scoring 35 goals last season, an unprecedented record in the history of the tournament. This achievement is a testament to Ronaldo's impressive scoring ability, despite turning 40, he still won the Saudi Pro League Golden Boot for the second consecutive time.
Currently, the Portuguese superstar is aiming to equal the record of former player Asamoah Gyan, who won the Saudi Pro League Golden Boot three times in a row (from the 2011-12 to 2013-14 season).
After receiving the title, Ronaldo returned to the match with the highest spirit of dedication for the home audience. The striker born in 1985 played with great effort but could not penetrate the net of Al Fateh. In the beginning of the second half, CR7 had a chance to finish close to the goal but he missed the ball to the regret of his teammates.
Although Ronaldo could not score in this match, he still had Sadio Mane and new signing Inigo Martinez to take his place. In the 52nd minute, Mane coordinated with Kingsley Coman with a neat touch before easily putting the ball into the net, opening the score of the match.

With the lead, Ronaldo and his teammates played comfortably and created numerous situations that threatened the visitors' goal. In the 83rd minute, from a corner kick by Marcelo Brozovic, rookie Inigo Martinez jumped high and headed the ball past goalkeeper Al-Kholood, sealing a 2-0 victory for Al Nassr.
With this victory, coach Jorge Jesus' team climbed to the top of the Saudi Pro League table with 6 points and a goal difference of +7 after 2 rounds. The next match between Al Nassr and Al Riyadh, the club currently ranked 9th on the table, will take place at 1am on September 21.
