Ronaldo left empty-handed in Saudi Arabia

Despite being exiled to Saudi Arabia in the twilight of his career, superstar Cristiano Ronaldo still cannot have the joy of winning more titles.

In the early morning of May 8, Ronaldo's Al Nassr lost 2-3 to Al Ittihad at home in round 30 of the Saudi Arabian Championship (Saudi Pro League).

This defeat shattered Al Nassr's dream of winning the Saudi Pro League. After 30 rounds, Al Nassr only had 60 points, 11 points behind the leader Al Ittihad.

With such a huge gap, Al Nassr is almost unable to catch up with Al Ittihad when the Saudi Pro League has only 4 more rounds to end.

Not only did Al Nassr fail to compete for the Saudi Pro League title, they were also knocked out of the top 3 and are at risk of not being able to participate in the Asian Cup next season. This is truly an extremely sad thing for Ronaldo.

Thus, Ronaldo will be empty-handed this season when he and Al Nassr Club missed out on championship titles. Specifically, Al Nassr was eliminated in the semi-finals of the AFC Champions League Elite, stopped at the round of 16 of the King's Cup, and lost in the Super Cup match.

The Portuguese superstar has extended his trophyless years to four. Since winning the Italian Cup with Juventus in 2021, Ronaldo has yet to win another title. In fact, in 2023, Al Nassr won the Arab Club Champions Cup, but this was only a friendly tournament.

However, Ronaldo is somewhat comforted as he is leading the Saudi Pro League scoring list with 23 goals, 3 more than second-placed Ivan Toney.

Towards the end of his career, Ronaldo still maintained his ability to score goals but he did not achieve collective glory.
