According to The Sun , Rooney has decided to put his coaching career on hold to focus on his commentary work. In this role, Rooney can share his experience and knowledge with the audience.

Daily Mail said Rooney received a salary of about 800,000 pounds in a 2-year contract with the BBC . Previously, the famous British broadcaster said goodbye to legendary Gary Lineker in a similar role.

“I’m doing television work and I’m really enjoying it, so that’s where I want to focus at the moment,” Rooney told talkSPORT late last month. Colleen Rooney, the former Manchester United star’s wife, also confirmed that her husband is happy with his role as a football analyst and podcaster.

Rooney has had a rocky start to his coaching career. The former England international failed to manage Derby County, DC United, Birmingham City and most recently Plymouth Argyle. He was sacked by Plymouth Argyle in January due to poor results.

Late last month, Macclesfield, a team playing in the 6th division of the English football system, wanted to invite Rooney to work. However, this offer was rejected by the former MU star.
