“The Vietnamese rowing team competed with the highest effort and won the overall leading position. This tournament was organized to attract rowers from Southeast Asia to participate, also so that each team can better prepare professionally for the 33rd SEA Games - 2025”, said a representative of the coaching board of the Vietnamese rowing team.

The tournament will close on June 4 (local time). This year, Thailand will host the tournament. The 2025 Southeast Asian Championships will also be the venue for rowing in the 33rd SEA Games 2025 competition program, so each rower will have the opportunity to get a better grasp of the sport.

The Vietnamese rowing team ranked first overall with 14 gold medals, 14 silver medals and 1 bronze medal. The tournament consisted of 18 events, including 2 groups A and B for single and double boats. Each country was allowed to register a maximum of 2 boats in 1 event. All the top rowers of the Vietnamese rowing team were present in Thailand. Olympic rower Pham Thi Hue participated in the tournament.

At the 33rd SEA Games 2025, host Thailand will only compete in 10 events (5 men's events, 5 women's events) including single, double and 4-person rowing. The Vietnamese rowing team said that in the 2025 Southeast Asian Championship, many athletes are preparing for the 33rd SEA Games 2025 of participating countries and we will know more about the strength of the opponents.
