The exterior of Terminal T2, Phu Bai International Airport is modeled after the Hue royal palace.

The T2 - Phu Bai Passenger Terminal project is invested by Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), designed by a group of architects Kyo Ariyoshi, Nguyen Dang Quang, Hiroyuki Enomoto and Pham Tien Thang, and put into operation from June 2023.

The project impresses with its modern structural design, harmoniously combined with the traditional cultural and historical elements of the ancient capital of Hue. The exterior shape simulates the image of the Hue royal palace with stylized overlapping roofs, the interior space is open, friendly, and takes advantage of natural light through sophisticated architectural details. With scientific forecasts of passenger growth, this T2 terminal has been planned quite flexibly, easily expanded, and operated effectively.

The project is a testament to the philosophy of sustainable design, respect for heritage and looking towards the future. The fact that Phu Bai Terminal T2 received the national architecture award not only affirms the creative mark in aviation infrastructure architecture but also contributes to raising the cultural and architectural status of Hue City and Vietnam.

It is known that the National Gold Architecture Award is the highest national architectural award, held every two years to honor outstanding architectural works.
