The science and technology innovation contest is an annual activity held at the Information Officer School. Over many years of organization and maintenance, the quality of the contest has been increasingly improved with more participating products and more investment. Following the success of the contests in previous years, the school recently organized the science and technology innovation contest in 2025 with 48 products from 15 focal points in the school participating. This is the 12th year the contest has been held. In particular, the competition has 10 products researched and manufactured by students. Many products have high applicability, contributing to improving the training quality of majors such as: Smart helmet; applying Django framework to build a website to manage competition points; system to detect students smoking and issue warnings... Participating in the competition with the product "System to detect and classify malware using artificial intelligence", Corporal Le Quang Nghi - student of Battalion 20 said that in addition to the time participating in training at the training ground, studying in the lecture hall, students must take advantage of the time to come up with ideas, research, build and complete the product. With the help and enthusiastic guidance of lecturers, creating conditions for officers and commanders at all levels, he and his colleagues have completed the product and participated in the competition with the hope that this product will contribute to improving the training quality for students majoring in cyberspace command and staff training.
In addition, the school's agencies, departments and units have carefully selected and brought to the contest many scientific ideas, typically: "Virtual Assistant" AI Agent to improve the quality of learning and teaching; research and design of UAV control system using IP technology in real-time monitoring; software to simulate and optimize array antennas to serve the construction of "Smart School"; Software for managing entry and exit to the barracks of the Information Officer School... Sharing about the initiative "Research, simulation, and manufacturing of switchboards with new components for internal voice information systems on tanks, warships, and Russian-generation submarines", Major, Doctor Pham Ky - lecturer of the Radio Equipment Department, Faculty of Radio, said that, based on the current practice in the army, prioritizing autonomy in technology for manufacturing military equipment, as well as ensuring the training model, teaching specialized technical subjects at the school, he has researched a product with outstanding technical parameters, low cost, easy-to-find components, easy-to-assemble and manufacture. The product can be used as a visual training model at the school, helping students to observe and understand more easily.
Colonel, Dr. Nguyen Danh Khoa - Vice Principal of the school, Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest said that before that, from the 2024 contest, the school had selected 17 products to compete in the Creative Youth Award at the Corps level, of which 11 products won prizes; 5 products participated in the award at the military level. Through the contest held annually, it has created a useful intellectual playground for each cadre, lecturer, staff, and student to exchange academic knowledge, new science and technology knowledge; contributing to improving the qualityof education and training at the school.
The Organizing Committee awarded 19 prizes to the products participating in the competition. Of which, 15 prizes were awarded to cadres, lecturers, and employees; 4 prizes were awarded to students. At the same time, they continued to select quality products to submit to the Creative Youth Awards at the Corps and Army levels and the 11th Provincial Technical Innovation Competition (2024 - 2025).
