Dramatizing the contest for gender equality and prevention of gender-based violence

(Dan Tri) - On the morning of November 10, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Thanh Hoa province coordinated with the People's Committee of Thach Thanh district to organize a contest "For gender equality and prevention of gender-based violence".


On November 10, the contest "For gender equality and prevention of gender-based violence" took place in Thanh An commune, Thach Thanh district with the participation of 50 members, divided into 5 teams: Nang Mai, Bong Lua, Hoa Huong Duong, Hoa Dat Muong and Hy Vong.

The teams come from the club for preventing and reducing the harmful effects of gender-based violence, the pioneering men's club for preventing violence against women, the gender-based violence prevention team, along with collaborators and propagandists on gender equality.

The contest focused on knowledge about the Law on Gender Equality, the Law on Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence, the Law on Marriage and Family, and Government decrees related to gender equality. With a vivid theatrical form, the contest innovated the way of propagating, disseminating, andeducating about the law on gender equality.

Through 4 competitions including greeting, knowledge, eloquence and talent, club members were equipped with knowledge and skills on gender equality, prevention and response to gender-based violence, and child protection.

The contest also builds a network of collaborators and propagandists on gender equality in villages and hamlets, with men playing a pioneering role.

The contest aims to build an environment without gender discrimination, creating an equal society without violence against women and children in the locality.

At the end of the competition, the first prize was awarded to the Hoa dat Muong team, the second prize went to the Bong lua team, the third prize went to the Nang mai team, and two consolation prizes went to the Hy vong and Hoa huong duong teams.
