The Mong people's Independence Day begins from August 29 to September 2. On this occasion, Mong people from remote villages invite each other to the streets, dressing up in their best clothes to go to the festival.
Mr. Trinh The Binh, Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Mu Cang Chai district, said that on the occasion of September 2nd, there will be a series of festival activities attracting the attention of local people and tourists from all over.
According to the plan, the district will organize a series of activities to celebrate Independence Day including: an art program to celebrate Independence Day (at 8:00 p.m. on September 1) at the courtyard of Mu Cang Chai town with the theme "Bright homeland", and a performance program " Mong people take to the streets".
Along with that, organize competitions in ethnic sports , folk games, mass art performances and display of ethnic costumes of Mu Cang Chai district.
In particular, visitors will also experience the Mu Cang Chai culinary culture festival, admire the art photos "Mu Cang Chai Colors" and participate in the contest of drawing patterns on fabric with beeswax, fast harvesting, good plowing, and beautiful embankment building.

According to Mr. Binh, on this occasion Mu Cang Chai is expected to welcome about 14,000 - 16,000 visitors.
"Independence Day also begins right at the time of ripe rice season, so it receives a lot of attention from tourists. The festival contributes to bringing joy to the people, giving them the motivation to improve their lives, while also attracting tourists to Mu Cang Chai, contributing to tourism development and improving the lives of the people," said Mr. Binh.
