Son La colors in souvenirs
For a long time, traditional handicraft products such as brocade, silver jewelry, traditional musical instruments, rattan and bamboo woven products or handmade souvenirs have become cultural symbols of Son La ethnic groups. Each product not only demonstrates the craftsmanship of the craftsman, but also contains long-standing cultural values, preserved and passed down through generations. Many types of souvenirs are being created and innovated in terms of design and quality to serve the shopping needs of tourists when coming to Son La and contribute to promoting the culture and people of this land.

OCOP products - highlight of tourist gifts
Along with traditional handicraft products, in recent years, the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program has become an important lever to promote tourism development in Son La.
OCOP products are processed according to strict control procedures, have clear brands, and carry the typical flavors of the Northwest region, winning the hearts of visitors from near and far. Many outstanding products are chosen as gifts, such as: Ta Xua tea, Moc Chau tea, Trong Nguyen tea, Son La coffee, Moc Chau milk and dairy products, dried fruits (plum, mango, longan) and specialty wines (apricot wine, apple wine), smoked meat...

Of these, 1 product is 5-star, 62 products are 4-star, and 151 products are 3-star. 12 points of display, introduction and sale of OCOP products are maintained in localities, thereby contributing to the development of diverse tourism gifts.

What impressed me was not only the natural landscape, attractive culture, hospitable people but also the very special souvenirs. Especially the processed agricultural products, which are meaningful gifts that I often buy as gifts after each trip to Son La.
Recognizing the importance of souvenirs and OCOP products, the province has had many support policies and development orientations. Functional sectors build a chain from production to consumption, connecting cooperatives, businesses and people with tourism service businesses, connecting supply and demand, organizing exhibition spaces, introducing OCOP products at key tourist destinations and major tourism events of the province. Creating conditions for businesses and cooperatives to bring souvenirs and OCOP products to participate in trade and tourism promotion fairs inside and outside the province.
Mr. Tran Xuan Viet, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, affirmed: In order for Son La tourism to develop sustainably, in the coming time, the Department will continue to coordinate with relevant departments, branches and sectors to support businesses and cooperatives in developing new tourism products, designing tourism gifts, contributing to creating more unique impressions so that Son La tourism can increasingly attract tourists.
Developing a variety of souvenir and OCOP products is not only an economic strategy but also a way to preserve and spread indigenous culture. These are the pieces that create a complete tourism ecosystem, from experience to shopping. With the right steps and consensus of the government, businesses and people, Son La's tourism souvenir products are gradually affirming their value, being meaningful gifts for tourists and becoming "ambassadors" to spread Son La's culture and tourism.
