Voc Duc Toan wine product, Village 3, Vu Ban commune (Binh Luc) was recognized as OCOP (One Commune One Product Program), ranked 3 stars in 2019 and was recognized again in 2022. Since being recognized as OCOP, Voc Duc Toan wine product has been effective in both production and business.

The amount of glutinous rice used for production alone has increased 3 times compared to more than 3 years ago. The consumption market has expanded to all provinces and cities across the country. In particular, the OCOP product Voc Duc Toan wine has been present in restaurant and hotel chains in a number of provinces and cities, most of which are in Phu Ly city. Ms. Tran Thi Hien, the owner of the production facility, said: When the OCOP recognition and labeling of the product has created trust for customers. Currently, the product has stood firm in the market, and consumption is increasing...

To achieve the current results, especially to maintain and continue to be recognized as OCOP, Voc Duc Toan wine products have really had fundamental changes in the production process. The facility has reinvested in all equipment from rice cookers to electric stainless steel wine cookers to replace the previous firewood and honeycomb coal stoves. Thereby, not only increasing the capacity dozens of times compared to manual cooking, but also ensuring quality, environmental hygiene, food safety, rice cooked with electric cookers is cooked evenly, not burnt, undercooked, and better catches the wine yeast. Regarding the source of raw materials, the facility strictly controls right from the input, the rice grains are even in size, color, and do not mix with other types of rice. In particular, the wine yeast is self-made from more than 30 types of Chinese medicinal herbs, selected from raw, mold-free sources, ground and mixed. Notably, the fermentation of rice wine after mixing yeast is also carried out in an air-conditioned house, always ensuring 25 - 27oC for the probiotics to work best, even when the weather is hot outside... After being cooked, the wine is put into a detoxification machine (Andehit). The production facility always ensures that it has all the mandatory conditions of a beverage product, which are granted and certified by the authorities, such as: Business license, periodic test results, food hygiene and safety certificate... According to Ms. Hien: Along with expanding the scale of production, the facility always pays attention to maintaining good product quality. Because it is a beverage product, in addition to the assessment of professional agencies, it is also assessed by the feelings of consumers themselves. The facility has not received mixed opinions about the quality of the OCOP product Voc Duc Toan wine since it was launched on the market.

Along with improving quality, the production facility also focuses on investing in improving product design. Products when launched on the market have full labels and traceability stamps. In addition to wine in 2 - 5 - 10 - 20 liter cans, the facility has 500 ml bottled wine products that are convenient for supplying to restaurants and hotels. The product packaging is beautifully designed by the facility to serve as gifts... Since being recognized as an OCOP product, Voc Duc Toan wine facility has increased production output and formed a closed supply chain and production and consumption of products. Specifically, sticky rice raw materials are placed at reputable agents for transportation to production, then the wine products are delivered to agents for distribution to consumers. The facility currently creates regular jobs for 4 local workers with stable income.

It is known that in order to continue developing the Voc Duc Toan wine production facility, it is aiming to establish a cooperative with few members. In the 2023 crop season, the pilot facility will cooperate with local people to produce sticky rice materials according to VietGap. At the same time, it is promoting the signing of contracts with households producing about 10 hectares of sticky rice to ensure quality, be recognized as VietGAP, be granted a growing area code and purchase all products at a price increase of about 5% compared to the market price at the time of purchase in the spring crop of 2024 and the following crops.

The traditional Voc wine village of Vu Ban commune currently maintains about 50 professional wine-producing households. A specialized cooperative and a wine production and trading association have been established here. The success of the OCOP product of Voc Duc Toan wine is the premise and motivation for other establishments to learn from experience and improve product quality. It is known that in 2023, more establishments have registered product ideas to participate in OCOP, creating a new development step for the craft village.
