Medicine for mother

Now, when seeing her mother healthy again, all indicators related to elderly diseases such as blood pressure, diabetes, blood fat... are at safe levels, Ms. Van silently thanks the opportunity to help her understand the wonderful effects of the Xuyen chi plant. Ms. Van said that in 2018, her family's Thanh Binh food service business was able to accompany a volunteer group to visit children in the highlands of Bac Tra My. The group included nutrition experts from Australia and Japan, who came to research nutritional meals for children.

"While traveling with the volunteer group to the highland communes, along the way, they saw the Xuyen Chi tree growing thickly on both sides and told me to pick it up and cook for the whole group. At first, I wondered why people eat this wild plant? Because in my hometown, this plant grows a lot but I have never seen anyone eat it. They told me to bring the Xuyen Chi tree shoots and leaves to boil, stir-fry with garlic, make soup... Seeing them eat, I also tried it and found it quite delicious" - Ms. Van said.

Experts also shared with Ms. Van about the special uses of the Chinese clematis plant. In developed countries, Chinese clematis is a medicinal herb so it rarely grows wild like in Vietnam. Chinese clematis contains the medicinal substances flavonoids, terpenoids, polyynes and porphyrins. Most of the flavonoids are extracted from plants to support the treatment of cancer patients, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant. Chinese clematis is suitable for preventing and limiting the causes of gout, blood fat, cardiovascular disease, blood pressure, diabetes...

Ms. Van's family has an elderly mother who has suffered from a stroke for many years, so based on the instructions of the expert team, she cut the stems, leaves and flowers of the plant, dried them and boiled water for her mother to drink. After a while, her mother's blood pressure was maintained stable, her stroke condition improved significantly and now her health has recovered well.

Ms. Van shared: "From such effects, I made water for the whole family to drink to prevent diseases. I introduced it to my acquaintances, and they drank it for a long time and saw the effect. After that, some people even told me to make tea to sell, because although it grows in many places, it is not good to use Xuyen chi anywhere. Xuyen chi is a type of plant that processes toxins in the air and soil, if in environments that are negatively affected, Xuyen chi there may not be guaranteed."

After 3 years of experience, seeing the health of her family and relatives improve, along with the encouragement of everyone, in 2022, Ms. Van boldly went to tea production and herbal tea processing facilities in and outside the province to learn about the production process as well as experience in purchasing machinery and choosing input materials.

After that, she invested nearly 100 million VND to buy a freeze dryer and packaging equipment to produce xuyen chi tea. Initially, Ms. Van only sold raw tea in 0.5 - 1kg packages. Later, realizing the huge market demand, she also produced tea bags.

"According to the experience of experts, soft-bodied plants should be preserved in powder form after freeze-drying to preserve the medicinal ingredients. Drying or heat-drying will create a biological reaction that makes xuyen chi not ensure its inherent medicinal effects. After testing, the results showed that the tea bag product is allowed to circulate on the market and does not contain any ingredients that are harmful to the body," Ms. Van affirmed.

Ms. Van’s tea bag products are currently being sold on e-commerce channels. Grasping market trends, she created short videos and posted them on social networking sites to communicate the effects of the flower. Since then, many orders have been shipped to all parts of the country.

Through that, the locality highly appreciated Ms. Van's start-up model of producing tea bags from the xuyen chi tree, a type of tree that grows a lot in the locality.
