Real Madrid star dissatisfied with Xabi Alonso

Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin has reportedly expressed his desire to leave Real Madrid as soon as possible.

Lunin (right) is dissatisfied because Alonso did not give him a chance.

At the age of 26, Lunin believes he needs to play more regularly to develop his career, instead of always playing a backup role for Thibaut Courtois at the Bernabeu.

Under Xabi Alonso, Lunin barely got a chance to start as Courtois fully recovered and continued to prove his class. The lack of playing time left Lunin frustrated with the coaching staff's plans and yearning for a change.

Previously, in the 2023/24 season, he had a quite impressive period of performance when Courtois suffered a long-term injury, but that was still not enough for him to become the number one choice in the Royal team's goal.

Lunin's contract runs until 2030, giving Real an advantage in negotiations, but also making his departure complicated if no offer is made. According to multiple sources, Real Madrid are willing to listen to offers in the 25-30 million euro range, but still want to ensure they have a reliable alternative if they part ways with the goalkeeper.

Several clubs have expressed interest in Lunin, including Aston Villa, especially if Emiliano Martinez leaves, and Turkish side Galatasaray. However, so far, no offer has met both Real Madrid's financial demands and Lunin's desire to play first-team football.
