Merging Dong Son District Police into Thanh Hoa City Police

In accordance with the Resolution of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly and the Decisions of the Minister of Public Security , after a period of preparation and implementation of the prescribed procedures, the Dong Son District Police officially merged into the Thanh Hoa City Police.

Major General Tran Phu Ha, Director of the Provincial Police, delivered a speech giving directives at the announcement ceremony.

On the afternoon of December 30th, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Department held a ceremony to announce the Decisions of the Minister of Public Security regarding the merger of Dong Son District Police into Thanh Hoa City Police; the reorganization and consolidation of commune-level police in Thanh Hoa City; and the Decisions on the assignment and transfer of officers.

Members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, including Major General Tran Phu Ha, Director of the Provincial Police; and Le Anh Xuan, Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Thanh Hoa City, attended the announcement ceremony.

In accordance with Resolution No. 1238 dated October 24, 2024, of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly , on November 29, 2024, the Minister of Public Security signed decisions on the dissolution of Dong Son District Police to merge with Thanh Hoa City Police and to reorganize and consolidate commune, ward, and town police forces. Accordingly, after the merger, Thanh Hoa City Police will have 36 commune and ward police forces.

Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Major General Tran Phu Ha, Director of the Provincial Police, emphasized: In recent years, the Party and State have focused on leading and directing the reform and restructuring of the political system's organizational apparatus to be streamlined, effective, and efficient. Specifically for the police force, after the Politburo issued Resolution No. 22, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police have reorganized and streamlined their apparatus in accordance with the principle of "a lean central ministry, a strong provincial force, comprehensive district forces, and grassroots-based commune forces." Through this, they have gradually consolidated, strengthened, and built a stronger Thanh Hoa police force, successfully fulfilling their assigned tasks.

Major General Tran Phu Ha, Director of the Provincial Police, presented the Decision of the Minister of Public Security to the leaders of Thanh Hoa City Police and the heads of police in several wards and communes of the city following the merger.

In accordance with the Resolution of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly and the Decisions of the Minister of Public Security, after a period of preparation and implementation of the prescribed procedures, the Dong Son District Police officially merged into the Thanh Hoa City Police.

To ensure that the Thanh Hoa City Police Department and the police departments of the wards and communes are properly organized and operate normally, the Director of the Provincial Police Department requested that, immediately after the conference, the Thanh Hoa City Police Department promptly stabilize its organization, propose the assignment of tasks to the city police leadership, and assign and arrange work for commanders, officers, and soldiers in the newly established teams and ward police stations so that they can immediately begin their work, ensuring that it does not affect the professional work of the city police and its subordinate units.

The Party Committee, the leadership of the City Police, and the Party committees and commanders of the teams and police forces of the wards and communes in Thanh Hoa City will continue to do a good job in political and ideological work, encouraging officers and soldiers to work with peace of mind; upholding the spirit of unity, strengthening personnel management, protecting internal political security, tightening discipline and order, and strictly implementing the working regulations of the units. At the same time, they will organize forces to ensure good security and order in the area before, during, and after the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake 2025.
