National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man has just signed and issued Resolution No. 1105/NQ-UBTVQH15 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in the 2023-2025 period of Soc Trang province.

According to the Resolution, the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in Soc Trang city is as follows:
Ward 1 was established on the basis of merging the entire natural area of 5.31 km2 and the population of 10,887 people of Ward 9 and the entire natural area of 0.29 km2 and the population of 6,587 people of Ward 1. After establishment, Ward 1 had a natural area of 5.60 km2 and a population of 17,474 people.
Ward 1 borders Ward 2, Ward 3, Ward 4, Ward 6, Ward 8 and My Xuyen district;
After the arrangement, Soc Trang city has 09 wards.
After the arrangement of commune-level administrative units, Soc Trang province has 11 district-level administrative units, including 01 city, 02 towns and 08 districts; 108 commune-level administrative units, including 80 communes, 16 wards and 12 towns.
This Resolution comes into force from September 1, 2024.
The National Assembly Standing Committee assigns the Government, the People's Council, the People's Committee of Soc Trang province and relevant agencies and organizations to be responsible for organizing the implementation of this Resolution; arranging and stabilizing the apparatus of local agencies and organizations; stabilizing the lives of local people, ensuring the requirements of socio -economic development, national defense and security in the area.
The Nationalities Council , the Committees of the National Assembly and the National Assembly Delegation of Soc Trang province, within the scope of their tasks and powers, shall supervise the implementation of this Resolution.
