For healthy people, walking gently after eating helps digestion and burns calories. For the purpose of losing weight and controlling weight, some people often stand or walk immediately after eating. However, for people with poor health, standing or walking after eating is not a good choice. Standing causes the center of gravity of the stomach to change, which can easily cause stomach reflux.
Compared to lying down or standing up and walking around, sitting up straight for about 15-20 minutes after a meal is the best choice. At this time, blood is mainly supplied to the stomach and intestines to digest food, thereby making the stomach and intestines function normally, without the risk of gastric reflux disease.
After that, light exercise will help digestion best. You should absolutely avoid heavy exercise or lying down after eating if you do not want to encounter harmful health problems.
