The Drug Administration recently decided to suspend circulation, recall and destroy the entire batch of Hanayuki Sunscreen Body products (box of 1 tube of 100g) distributed by Doan Di Bang's husband's company. The reason is that the sun protection index on the label is SPF 50 but the SPF index tested is only 2.4.
Therefore, to ensure the safety and interests of consumers and improve the effectiveness of post-circulation inspection of cosmetics, the Drug Administration of Vietnam recommends that provincial and municipal health departments strengthen cosmetic management of sunscreen cosmetic products.
In particular, reviewing cosmetic product declaration forms with declared sun protection features and uses to ensure compliance with current regulations; revoking the received declaration forms that do not meet regulations.
At the same time, direct functional units to check the labeling and advertising of sunscreen cosmetic products in the area; increase sampling of sunscreen cosmetics to test and determine the SPF index (Sun Protection Factor).
The Department also requires production and business establishments responsible for bringing cosmetic products to the market to strictly comply with regulations on cosmetic management.
Companies need to review product information records, methods and results of SPF index determination, ensuring they are complete, accurate and ready to be provided when authorities request quality inspection. At the same time, review the content of the declaration form and product labels to ensure compliance with regulations.
