Coach Tran Dinh Tien fielded the strongest lineup with key players such as Quan Trong Nghia, Nguyen Ngoc Thuan, Tran Duy Tuyen, Truong The Khai and Pham Quoc Du. Setter Dinh Van Duy continued to be the key player in coordinating the play. Thanks to his ability to read the game well, he helped Vietnam's main attackers maximize their effectiveness.

Right from the first set, the Vietnamese players entered the match with confidence, winning overwhelmingly 25-19. However, Thailand managed to equalize when winning 25-16 in set 2. The two teams continued to compete for each point in the following sets. Vietnam won 25-21 in set 3, before Thailand equalized the match with a 25-19 victory in set 4.

Entering the decisive set, the Vietnamese men's volleyball team showed their mettle at the right time. The explosion of the two main attackers Ngoc Thuan and Trong Nghia caused many difficulties for the Thai blockers. The red team's attacking serves and net shots proved to be superior, helping coach Tran Dinh Tien's team close out set 5 with a score of 15-11.

With a 3-2 win, the Vietnamese men's volleyball team continued their impressive record by defeating Thailand in both stages of this year's SEA V.League. The final match of stage 2 will take place on July 20. Here, the Vietnamese men's volleyball team will face the Philippines to determine the final ranking.
