The supercar world has just witnessed a new historical milestone when Rimac Nevera R, the high-performance version of the Nevera line, simultaneously set 24 speed and braking records, an unprecedented achievement in the history of electric vehicles. At the Papenburg test track in Germany, the Nevera R proved that electric cars are not only fast in the sprint, but can also control and stop with near-perfect precision. The highlight of the series of achievements was the 0–400–0 km/h performance in just 25.79 seconds, faster than famous internal combustion engine supercars such as the Bugatti Chiron or Koenigsegg Regera.
The Nevera R uses four electric motors, generating a total output of 2,107 horsepower. The 4-wheel drive system with intelligent torque distribution helps the car to have maximum grip in extreme acceleration situations. Special Michelin Cup 2 R tires and a retuned suspension system optimize performance at high speeds. Unlike the standard version, the Nevera R no longer uses active aerodynamics. Instead, a fixed wing and a large rear diffuser increase downforce by 15% and improve aerodynamic efficiency by 10%. This not only makes the car more stable at speeds above 400 km/h, but also ensures consistency when braking hard.
In addition, the carbon-ceramic brake system combined with regenerative braking helped the Nevera R stop from 400 km/h in just 129.56 meters, an impressive figure never seen before in any car model, whether electric or gasoline. The Nevera R’s list of records spanned the usual 0–100 km/h (1.72 seconds) and 1/4 mile (7.90 seconds) to the more challenging 0–300–0 km/h and 0–400–0 km/h – all of which were verified by the VBOX measuring system and independent monitoring. “The Nevera R is not just a faster electric car,” says Rimac founder Mate Rimac. “It is a demonstration of breaking every physical and engineering limit ever set in the world of supercars.”
With a series of records just set, Rimac Nevera R has brought the Croatian car brand to a new level, at the same time setting a new standard for the global high-performance electric car industry. A car not for the majority, but enough to make the whole world turn their heads. Video : Rimac Nevera R breaks 24 shocking world speed records.
