According to information from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, typhoon WIPHA is likely to cause widespread heavy rain from July 20-25 in the Northern region. In this situation, the Department of Tourism requests:
- Tourist areas, attractions and service establishments need to urgently develop and activate storm response plans, proactively stop outdoor sightseeing activities when the weather is bad; at the same time, arrange forces on duty, prepare rescue equipment, publicize hotline numbers and warning signs at dangerous locations.
- Hotels, restaurants and accommodation establishments proactively check facilities, ensure safety for guests and staff; provide timely weather information to tourists, prepare necessities and arrange 24/7 on-call during storms.
- People's Committees of communes and wards closely coordinate with local tourist establishments to propagate and guide people and tourists to prevent natural disasters; be ready to support evacuation and rescue if an incident occurs.
- The Provincial Tourism Association is responsible for supporting member businesses in developing response plans, adjusting operations and coordinating with authorities in rescue work and overcoming consequences after the storm.
The Department of Tourism emphasized: Tourist safety is the top priority. Units in the entire industry need to raise vigilance, absolutely not be subjective, closely coordinate with the government and functional agencies to effectively respond to the upcoming storm.
