Temporarily detained the subject who destroyed nearly 1 hectare of forest

QNgTV- On October 6, Quang Ngai Provincial Police announced that the unit had issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain LL (39 years old), in Ia Krai commune, Gia Lai province, for the crime of "forest destruction".

According to the Quang Ngai Provincial Police, on April 29, the forest rangers of Ia H'Drai district (now part of Quang Ngai province) discovered a case of deforestation in lot 2, compartment 7, sub-area 747, within the boundaries of Ia Toi commune. Through investigation, the authorities determined that Mr. L. was hired by Ms. LTT (in the same commune as Ia Krai commune) to come to the locality to cut down trees.

Mr. L. directly used a chainsaw and a clearing knife to cut down 60 trees, causing damage to nearly 1 hectare of natural forest. During the process, Ms. T was on guard duty outside.

After receiving his salary, Mr. L. left the locality and returned to Nha Trang to reside. On September 30, the police conducted a field experiment and fully determined Mr. L's violations.

The case is currently under further investigation to clarify the roles of the individuals involved, especially the mastermind in this illegal deforestation case.
