Issued alarm number III on Thuong River

The Thuong River water level is rising to alarm level III.

According to the dispatch, at 4:55 p.m. on October 7, the water level on the Thuong River at Phu Lang Thuong Hydrological Station was above alert level III (equivalent to a water level of ≥6.30m). The Provincial Civil Defense Command issued alert number III on the Thuong River at Phu Lang Thuong Hydrological Station.

Request: Department of Construction; Civil Defense Command Board of communes and wards: Bac Giang , My Thai, Tan Tien, Tan An, Yen Dung, Canh Thuy, Tien Phong, Da Mai, Phuc Hoa, Dong Viet, Tien Luc; Bac Song Thuong and Nam Song Thuong Irrigation Works Exploitation Limited Company; Bac Giang, Tan Yen and Lang Giang Dyke Management Department strictly implement the requirements in Official Dispatch No. 34/CD-BCHPTDS at 8:30 a.m. on October 7, 2025. Organize a 24/24-hour standing staff, regularly update information, and promptly report to the Provincial Civil Defense Command Board (Standing Office: Provincial Military Command) and the Department of Agriculture and Environment (through the Irrigation Sub-Department) for advice, direction and operation.

According to information from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, in the next 12 hours, floods on Cau River at Dap Cau Station and Thuong River at Phu Lang Thuong Station will continue to rise above alert level 3; floods on Luc Nam River at Luc Nam Station will continue to rise to alert levels 2 and 3.

In the next 12-24 hours, the flood on Cau River at Dap Cau Station and Thuong River at Phu Lang Thuong Station will continue to rise and be above alert level 3, about 0.2-0.4m lower than the historical flood. The flood on Luc Nam River at Luc Nam Station is likely to change slowly at the peak level between alert level 2 and alert level 3 on the night of October 7, then slowly decrease.

River floods inundate low-lying areas along the river, affecting activities such as waterway transport, aquaculture, agricultural production, people's lives and socio- economic activities.
