BAC NINH - Faced with the complicated developments of floods, Hop Thinh commune has urgently deployed response measures when the water level of Cau River rises, threatening to cause deep flooding in many villages such as Xuan Giang, Dong Dao, Da Hoi and Ninh Tao.

Since the afternoon of October 7, the commune has proactively developed a flood prevention and control plan; at the same time, it has propagated and mobilized people to evacuate people and property to safe places. Thanks to the consensus and close coordination between the government and the people, by about 9:00 p.m. the same day, the evacuation was basically completed. The elderly, children, pregnant women, and people with disabilities were given priority for evacuation; essential items and pets were moved to high places; schools were requisitioned as temporary shelters for households.

At 9:30 p.m., the Bac Ninh Provincial Civil Defense Command issued a level III alert on the Cau River, warning of rapid flood rise and the risk of dyke safety loss. Faced with the urgent situation, Hop Thinh Commune decided to open the sluice, allowing the Cau River to overflow the banks to regulate the flood, accepting the fact that the villages were temporarily surrounded and isolated by water.

Along with that, local forces were mobilized to be on duty 24/24, ensuring food supply for people in affected areas. According to statistics, about 1,000 households with 5,000 people were evacuated during this flood, but the households and people were united and united to overcome the difficulties.
