According to data just released by the General Statistics Office, GDP in the third quarter of 2025 is estimated to increase by 8.23% over the same period last year, bringing the 9-month increase to 7.85%, creating a solid foundation to strive to achieve the growth target of over 8% set by the Government .
Specifically, the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector increased by 3.83%, contributing 5.36% to the overall growth; industry and construction increased by 8.69%, accounting for 43.05%; services increased by 8.49%, contributing more than half to the growth of the entire economy . Exports of goods and services increased by 15.51%, imports increased by 16.75%, the trade balance had a surplus of 16.82 billion USD. Notably, realized FDI reached 18.8 billion USD, the highest in the past 5 years; more than 231,000 enterprises were newly established or returned to operation, an increase of 26.4%.
According to the General Statistics Office, the last quarter of the year still has many potential challenges due to the large openness of the economy, which is strongly influenced by the global market, while natural disasters and epidemics in the country are still complicated, affecting the overall growth of the economy. Achieving the 8% growth target is a difficult task but not impossible, if the entire political system, businesses and people work together.
