Over the years, the search, collection, and identification of the remains of fallen soldiers have always been a priority for all levels and sectors in Thai Nguyen , and have been carried out regularly. However, many graves still remain unidentified.
To facilitate the identification process, starting in June 2026, Thai Nguyen will implement the collection, handover of samples, and digitization of information on the remains of unidentified martyrs buried in martyrs' cemeteries in the area.

According to the Department of Internal Affairs of Thai Nguyen province, there are currently 954 graves of martyrs whose information has not been identified in 49 martyrs' cemeteries throughout the province.
Data sampling and digitization are being carried out to facilitate DNA testing, gradually supplementing the scientific basis for verifying the identities of fallen soldiers whose information is still incomplete.
Besides professional requirements, this activity is also linked to the work of honoring those who have contributed to the revolution, helping to complete the records and data on martyrs in the area.
This plan is being implemented in the context of the nationwide "500-day and night campaign to intensify the search, collection, and identification of the remains of fallen soldiers."
Based on the requirements of this campaign, standardizing information, sampling, and building digital data are considered fundamental to future identity verification efforts.
According to Colonel Tran Viet Nang, Political Commissar of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Military Command, this is a particularly important political task that requires units and localities to enhance their sense of responsibility in its implementation.

Along with preparing the necessary professional conditions, public awareness campaigns are crucial to fostering consensus among the people and ensuring the implementation proceeds on schedule.
Thai Nguyen aims to complete the sampling, sample delivery, and digitization of information on the remains of fallen soldiers according to plan from June 2026 to the end of the first quarter of 2027.
During the implementation process, all relevant data will be fully and promptly updated into the sample information management software as required by the competent authorities.
Digitization also ensures the ability to connect, share, and interlink data with the national database on meritorious individuals according to the management hierarchy.
Also this month, the province plans to organize the collection and handover of samples from the remains of fallen soldiers at Yen Trach Martyrs' Cemetery in accordance with the prescribed professional procedures.
This deployment will carry out all steps from excavation, sampling, sample handover and storage to data digitization before organizing an evaluation of the results.
Following the pilot phase, the relevant units will conduct a comprehensive review of the organizational work to ensure effective implementation at the remaining martyrs' cemeteries.
Simultaneously collecting samples and building a digital database not only serves management purposes but also facilitates the verification of information about fallen soldiers in the future.
