Summary of police work in the first six months of the year

This afternoon, July 15th, the Quang Tri Provincial Police Department held a conference to review police work during the first six months of 2024. The Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Vo Van Hung, attended the conference.

In the first six months of 2024, the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the Provincial Public Security Department led and directed the planning and implementation of key tasks. Notably, they actively and proactively advised the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to continue directing the implementation of Resolution 12/NQ-TW of the Politburo and Resolution 04/NQ-TU of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on "strengthening the building of a truly clean, strong, regular, elite, and modern Quang Tri Public Security force, meeting the requirements and tasks in the new situation".

Proactively monitoring the situation and advising on solutions to emerging issues in ensuring security and order, protecting key targets, political and cultural events, and activities of Party and State leaders, preventing passivity and surprises. The work of ensuring social order and safety has been implemented decisively; new methods and tactics of various types of crime have been proactively identified to combat them promptly and effectively.

In the first six months of the year, over 180 cases were investigated and clarified, and nearly 400 individuals were arrested and prosecuted for crimes against social order. The investigation and resolution rate for very serious and especially serious cases reached 100%. The unit continued to closely adhere to targets and requirements to accelerate the progress of Project 06 and the National Population Database Project, as well as the project for the production, issuance, and management of citizen identification cards. Political and ideological education and the tightening of discipline among officers and soldiers continued to be strengthened, resulting in a significant reduction in the rate of disciplinary violations by officers.

Speaking at the conference, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung requested that the entire provincial police force continue to proactively gather information from the grassroots level, promptly advising local Party committees and authorities on directing national security work and ensuring the absolute safety of important political, cultural, and social events and targets. He also called for strengthening crime prevention and control efforts, especially against murder, intentional injury, drug-related crimes, and crimes related to illegal lending.

Continue to advise and urge the implementation of solutions and roadmaps to improve the rate and quality of online public service delivery, clean up and maintain data, and ensure service interoperability. Implement synchronized solutions to improve the quality of Party building and force building. Pay attention to managing officers and soldiers, preventing misconduct and corruption, enhancing the combat effectiveness of grassroots Party organizations, and tightening discipline, order, and adherence to regulations.

At the conference, the Provincial Police awarded Certificates of Commendation from the Prime Minister to two collectives: the Office of the Criminal Investigation Agency and the Dong Ha City Police; and Certificates of Commendation from the Minister of Public Security to the Criminal, Economic, and Drug Crime Investigation Team of Cam Lo District Police and three individuals from Cam Lo District Police.
