Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee recorded that the number of people poisoned in Nha Trang continued to increase, with 222 hospitalized as of 3:00 p.m. on March 14, including 60 people previously suspected of eating at a chicken rice restaurant.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Ha, Chief of Office of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, announced the above information on the same afternoon, adding that 157 people were treated at 12 local hospitals and medical centers; the remaining people were examined, prescribed medicine and sent home for outpatient monitoring.
On the evening of March 13, authorities recorded 60 people with food poisoning. These people had one thing in common: they all ate rice bought from Tram Anh Chicken Rice restaurant, at different times, and then showed symptoms of food poisoning.
According to a quick report from the Nha Trang City Health Department, Khanh Hoa General Hospital received 59 cases, including 10 children, admitted sporadically from the evening of March 11 to noon of March 14 and is still continuing. Hospitals treating many patients are Saigon - Nha Trang General Hospital, Tam Tri, 22-12, Van Ninh Medical Center...
The health of most patients is currently stable. Nearly 100% of patients have had their samples taken.
Present at the hospital, Mr. Trinh Ngoc Hiep, Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Province Health Department, said that the results of the tests on the specimens and food samples were not yet available, so the cause could not be determined. For newly admitted patients, it was also not possible to record what they ate and when.

The chicken rice restaurant suspected of causing the poisoning had a Certificate of Business Eligibility and a Certificate of Food Safety Eligibility. 3/6 health certificates of the owner and employees dated December 5, 2022 have now expired. The owner of the establishment could not present the sales contract and other documents related to food ingredients. The establishment also did not conduct three-step food inspection and store food samples as prescribed.
Since March 11, many people have shown symptoms of food poisoning after eating at Tram Anh Chicken Rice restaurant in Nha Trang. Among them are both tourists and locals.
