The Ministry of Public Security is piloting a solution to identify and trace the origin of chemicals and precursors on the VNeID platform to control the supply chain, repel counterfeit goods, and protect consumer health.

On the afternoon of October 16, the Department of Administrative Police for Social Order (C06 - Ministry of Public Security ) held a ceremony to announce the pilot implementation of a solution to identify and trace the origin of chemicals and precursors on the VNeID platform.

Many chemicals and precursors are used to prepare drugs, medicines, cosmetics, and food.

According to C06, the situation of counterfeit goods, fake goods, and commercial fraud is a burning issue, causing serious damage.

According to statistics, in 2024 alone, more than 47,000 violations were detected and handled with a value of 425 billion VND. This situation continued in 2025 with nearly 10,000 cases handled in the first months of the year.

Regarding chemicals and precursors, many types of industrial precursors are still being exploited to prepare synthetic drugs. Many chemicals of unknown origin are used in the preparation of medicines, cosmetics, food, and pesticides, posing great risks to public health.

However, management is still fragmented and lacks electronic tracing tools, making it difficult for authorities to track the flow of chemicals, for businesses to prove legality, and for consumers to know the origin and safety of the products.

This situation reflects a significant gap in monitoring and tracing chemicals and precursors, requiring the early establishment of a unified traceability system to strengthen risk control and ensure social safety.

The solution for identifying and tracing the origin of chemicals and precursors (VNIDCheck) was launched to overcome management gaps due to lack of data connectivity between industries.

C06 said that the solution to identify and trace the origin of chemicals and precursors will bring many benefits, promote transparency and sustainable development.

For people: Push back the situation of counterfeit and fake goods, contribute to protecting consumer health, easily access transparent information about products, make feedback and warnings on the VNeID platform.

For businesses: Controlling the supply chain, transparency of origin to create healthy competitive advantages, facilitating tax reduction and exemption, and promoting exports.

For management agencies: Improve the efficiency of managing goods, chemicals, and precursors through interconnection, data synchronization, and analysis support to improve the efficiency of state management in the field of chemicals and precursors.

Speaking at the program, Colonel Tran Hong Phu, Deputy Director of Department C06, emphasized that one of the problems that exists in the current period is the reality of loopholes in the management of counterfeit goods, fake goods, chemical management, precursors... This affects and brings daily and hourly consequences to people's health and lives.

The Ministry of Public Security commits that the system for identification and traceability of chemicals and precursors will continue to be improved based on the motto of taking people and businesses as the center of service, ensuring that the system is deployed in a unified, safe, effective and sustainable manner.
